Junior development squad
Catering from 7 to 18 years old, the Junior Development Squad offers eligible young athletes an opportunity to develop their skills at an appropriate stage to succeed in their future sports journey by providing a better overall motor development, longer playing careers, increased ability to transfer sports skills and increased motivation and confidence.
Our young athletes train in small groups, making it suitable for all ages and abilities.
Usually 7-10 years old train ones a week, 11-13 years old train twice a week, 14-18 years 3 -5 times a week. Training sessions includes skills, coordination, strength and fitness development with a holistic approach including diet advises and all other aspect of performance.
Working with high performance athletes makes obvious how important the basic skills are. To build a high outstanding "tower" we need strong foundation. In the highest level little mistakes make a huge difference.
Skipping kids development phases will lead to wrong technical models. A little "dust" in the system will likely cause injurie, stop the athlete's improvement restricting their carrier due to a burn out.
At Seahawks we put strong emphasis on teaching the young athletes proven and mechanically correct technical models for sprint, jumps, hurdles, throws to build up their potential and fund the event suitable for each athletes capacities.
